Topics under study include: statewide drug repository programs, telehealth quality and accessibility, funeral director and crematory regulations, medical records access, opioid antagonist availability, hospital staffing levels, and tobacco product regulations

Additional study areas encompass: newborn screening requirements, emergency medical services, environmental public health, lead-free housing access, cooling centers during excessive heat, and automated external defibrillators at public facilities

Committee must file its findings, recommendations, and any draft legislation with the Clerk of the House of Representatives by December 31, 2026
