H552: Parental Rights Legislation

• Local public school jurisdictions and school committees would gain authority to reject any or all guidance and directives from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), either entirely or selectively at the line-item level
• Schools rejecting DESE directives would be protected from reprisals including faculty/administrator licensure revocation, criminal referrals of school personnel or committee members, and withholding of state funds
• School committee members and the citizens and parents who elect them would hold authority over all local school policy and procedure
