School committees in cities, towns, and regional school districts must recognize 2 student representatives elected by secondary school student bodies prior to June 1 each year

Student representatives would gain full voting rights on all matters before the school committee, replacing the current ex-officio non-voting status

Student representatives remain barred from executive sessions unless expressly granted access by the individual school committee, and serve without compensation

Districts must establish a student advisory committee, with membership size determined by each district, elected by secondary school students

The student advisory committee would assist elected student representatives with duties and help connect students to resources and their representatives
