School districts must obtain standing orders for ready-to-use undesignated glucagon rescue therapy to treat severe hypoglycemia in students when their prescribed glucagon is unavailable or expired

Schools may store glucagon supplies in secure, accessible locations and administer them on school property, buses, playgrounds, and during field trips

Applies to all primary and secondary public schools in Massachusetts, with administration permitted by school personnel including district employees, local health department staff assigned to schools, and contractors providing diabetes care services

Provides liability protection for prescribing health professionals, pharmacists, school personnel, districts, governing boards, and administrators when glucagon is administered in good faith following district policies

Schools must immediately call 911 after administering undesignated glucagon and notify the school nurse, parent/guardian, and student's health care provider
