Student teachers enrolled in approved educator preparation programs at Massachusetts public colleges and universities would receive a $4,500 stipend for their teaching placement, paid in two $2,250 installments

First payment due within 30 days of placement start date; second payment due within 30 days of satisfactory completion

Stipend is in addition to any other compensation, scholarships, grants, or financial assistance the student teacher receives

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education would disburse funds to school districts, subject to appropriation, to cover stipend costs

Effective for student teaching placements beginning on or after July 1, 2026
