Allows eligible individuals to register to vote on Election Day or during early voting by appearing in person at their polling place or early voting site with proof of residence and a signed affidavit

Acceptable proof of residence includes a Massachusetts driver's license, state-issued ID, utility bill, bank statement, government check, lease agreement, paycheck, or student documents showing current name and address

Registrants without proof of residence may cast a provisional ballot and must provide documentation within 2 business days after a primary or 6 days after an election

Providing false registration information is punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment, a fine up to $5,000, or both

Party enrollment cannot be changed at a primary through same-day registration, and allegations of illegal registration or multiple voting must be investigated by the attorney general or district attorney
