Elected or appointed officials in Blackstone who receive a stipend would be ineligible for the town's contributory health and life insurance plans unless they pay 100% of the cost plus any administrative fees set by the Board of Selectmen

Town Clerk and Treasurer-Collector positions are exempt and would remain eligible for insurance at the same contribution rate as nonunion town employees

New restrictions apply only to successors of current officeholders, not to incumbents serving when the act takes effect

Local approval from the town of Blackstone has been received for this home rule petition

Takes effect upon passage; similar legislation was filed in the 2023-2024 session (Senate No. 1296)
