Patients would have the right to designate a support person of their choosing to accompany them at health care facilities and provider offices during inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, or consultations

Support persons may be present with patients 24 hours a day in patient-accessible areas of health care facilities

Health care facilities may only temporarily restrict support person presence during surgeries or emergency interventions

Health care facilities are prohibited from requiring support persons to receive any vaccination as a condition for accessing the patient

Amends Section 70E of Chapter 111 of the General Laws by adding a new subsection (p) to existing patient rights
