Board of Registration in Medicine must collect data on the cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and educational composition of Massachusetts physicians beginning January 1, 2027

New license applicants and renewing physicians will be asked to voluntarily provide demographic information including race, ethnicity, gender identity, languages spoken, medical specialty, practice location, and employment status

Collected data will be shared with the Center for Health Information and Analysis, aggregated, de-identified, and published on their website within 60 days after each year ends

Participation is voluntary and responses will not affect licensure decisions; data cannot be sold to third parties

Center for Health Information and Analysis must submit annual reports to the legislature and Department of Public Health by February 28th each year
