Massachusetts Department of Public Health would develop a patient navigation pilot program for people diagnosed with Long COVID, using the NASEM definition, subject to appropriation

Patient navigators would help Long COVID patients access subspecialty care, schedule appointments, coordinate with healthcare teams, and optimize insurance and disability coverage

Navigators would also connect patients to social services addressing transportation, language barriers, food insecurity, housing insecurity, unemployment assistance, and emotional support groups

A consumer advisory board consisting primarily of Long COVID patients and healthcare providers may be established, with potential stipend payments for participation

Department must report to the legislature within one year of implementation on pilot activities, patient participation by region, and recommendations for program expansion
