Requires assisted living residences to have at least one trained AED provider on-site 24 hours per day and at least one automated external defibrillator readily available

Prohibits assisted living facilities from preventing trained staff from administering CPR or using an AED on residents who do not have a do not resuscitate order

Allows facilities to require documentation of proper CPR/AED training before staff can render emergency care

Prohibits retaliation against trained staff who provide emergency assistance, including suspension, demotion, or termination

Facilities in violation cannot receive state certification from the Department of Elder Affairs
