Commonwealth of Massachusetts would reimburse cities and towns for mandated early voting costs, including additional personnel, overtime pay for staff working outside regular hours, and equipment like voting booths and privacy screens

State auditor must determine and report estimated incremental early voting costs for each municipality to the secretary of state by September 15 annually

Secretary of state must include the total estimated costs in budget recommendations and distribute funds to municipalities no more than 30 days before costs are incurred

Reimbursement funds go directly into each municipality's general fund and can be expended without further local appropriation

Amends Section 25B of Chapter 54 of the General Laws by adding a new subsection addressing cost reimbursement
