Full-time firefighters employed by the state, cities, towns, fire districts, or water districts must receive physician-conducted cancer screening examinations starting no less than 3 years after employment begins and every 3 years thereafter

Coverage extends to firefighters at Massachusetts Military Reservation, 104th Fighter Wing, Devens fire department, Massachusetts Port Authority, and Barnes Air National Guard Base

Required screenings must include, at minimum: colon, lung, bladder, oral, thyroid, skin, blood, breast, cervical, testicular, and prostate cancers (when applicable)

All screening costs must be fully covered by the employer-provided health care plan with no co-payments, deductibles, coinsurance, or out-of-pocket expenses

The act takes effect immediately upon passage
