Prohibits health insurers from requiring "step therapy" for infertility treatment, meaning patients cannot be forced to try alternative medications or procedures before receiving the treatment recommended by their physician

Requires the Group Insurance Commission to cover medically necessary infertility diagnosis and treatment for active and retired state employees at the same level as other pregnancy-related procedures

Extends infertility coverage requirements to MassHealth (Medicaid) and its contracted health plans, managed care organizations, and accountable care organizations

Defines infertility as inability to conceive for 1 year if female is age 35 or younger, or 6 months if over age 35; time spent attempting conception before a pregnancy that did not result in live birth counts toward these periods

Amends multiple sections of Massachusetts insurance law (Chapters 175, 176A, 176B) to apply the step therapy prohibition across commercial health insurance policies, hospital service corporations, and medical service agreements
