MD HB1031

Requires health insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and health maintenance organizations to cover prescription weight loss drugs for individuals diagnosed with obesity and at least one comorbid medical condition treatable with such drugs

Applies to individual, group, and blanket health insurance policies and contracts issued or delivered in Maryland

Adds new Section 15-839.1 to the Maryland Insurance Article

Takes effect January 1, 2026, applying to all policies, contracts, and health benefit plans issued, delivered, or renewed on or after that date
