Commercial application of general use pesticides must be performed by or under the supervision of a certified pest control applicator or certified public agency applicator

Commercial application of restricted use pesticides must be performed directly by a certified pest control applicator or certified public agency applicator, with no supervision option

Private application of restricted use pesticides must be done by a certified private applicator or by an individual under their direct supervision, with the supervising applicator required to ensure compliance with federal requirements at 40 C.F.R. § 171.201(b)(3)

Certified applicators are responsible and liable for all pesticide applications under their supervision or certification

Repeals obsolete provisions regarding cyclodiene termiticides (chlordane, heptachlor, aldrin, dieldrin) and antifouling paints containing tributyltin compounds, effective October 1, 2025
