Repeals the requirement that assets owned by any Methodist Church (including former Methodist Episcopal, Methodist Protestant, Evangelical United Brethren, and related churches) be held in trust for the United Methodist Church

Removes the provision subjecting local Methodist church assets to the discipline, usage, and ministerial appointments of the United Methodist Church general conference

Eliminates the rule that absence of a trust clause in deeds executed before June 1, 1953 does not relieve local churches from their connectional responsibilities to the United Methodist Church

Allows local Methodist congregations to control their own property without denominational oversight

Effective date: October 1, 2025
