Changes the Frederick County Sheriff's annual salary from a fixed $125,000 to equal the salary of a Maryland State Police lieutenant colonel at the highest available step

Sheriff's salary is locked in based on the State Police pay plan in effect the day before beginning a term of office

Any changes to the State Police pay plan during the Sheriff's term do not apply to the incumbent; new rates take effect at the start of the next term

Current Sheriff serving a term that began before the effective date is not affected; the new salary structure applies starting with the next term of office
