Municipal corporations in Prince George's County with populations of at least 15,000 may by resolution assume land use decision-making powers of the County Planning Board, zoning hearing examiner, or District Council for land within their corporate limits

Qualifying municipalities must follow all substantive and procedural requirements established in Prince George's County zoning law, including regulations and maps, when exercising these powers

Municipal corporations cannot amend county zoning law or adopt their own municipal zoning law under this authority

Within 30 days of adopting a resolution to exercise these powers, the municipal governing body must submit a copy to the District Council

Parties of record may seek judicial review of municipal land use decisions in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County; effective date is October 1, 2025
