Expands Maryland's existing Zero-Emission Vehicle School Bus Transition Grant Program and Fund to include propane-powered school buses as eligible alternatives to diesel buses

Beginning in fiscal year 2030, county boards of education may enter into new contracts to purchase propane-powered school buses, in addition to zero-emission vehicles

Grants may be used to purchase zero-emission or propane-powered buses, install electric vehicle charging infrastructure, fund transition planning, and support pilot programs

County boards are exempt from the zero-emission requirement if no available zero-emission or propane-powered vehicle meets performance needs, or if they cannot obtain sufficient funding to cover incremental costs over diesel
