MD HB1281

Creates a new "limited special event permit" for Anne Arundel County alcoholic beverage license holders (Class B, BLX, C, D, and H licenses) to host music, dancing, and other legal entertainment for one day on a specified date

Grants the Board of License Commissioners sole discretion to issue permits and authority to require information about planned events before approval

Prohibits issuing permits to Class BLX or Class H license holders if their premises are within 1,000 feet of a place of worship or school

Removes previously proposed per-day permit fees ($15 for beer/wine licenses, $25 for beer/wine/liquor licenses) and eliminates the "cultural" designation from the permit name in the final version

Takes effect July 1, 2025, and was approved by Governor Wes Moore on May 20, 2025
