Authorizes law enforcement officers of the Forest Heights Police Department to participate in Maryland's Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System (LEOPS)

Membership is optional and requires employees to file a written, one-time irrevocable election with the State Retirement Agency before the effective date of participation

Current employees who elect membership receive service credit equal to 50% of their prior employment time with the Forest Heights Police Department

Employees or former employees who join LEOPS after the effective date are not eligible to receive any service credit for prior Forest Heights employment

Effective date: June 1, 2025
