State Board of Education must develop curriculum content standards for a unit of instruction on Asian American history covering events, Maryland/Mid-Atlantic regional history, and contributions to civil rights, government, arts, humanities, science, and national development

County boards must implement the curriculum in all public schools beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, with instruction required at least once in elementary school, once in a required middle school history course, and once in a high school history course required for graduation

County boards determine the appropriate instructional time and may develop online courses to satisfy the requirement

State Board may prepare instructional materials, including PBS materials on Asian Americans, as a guide for curriculum development
