Washington County tax sale notices must be published two times in newspapers, once per week in alternate weeks, rather than the standard four consecutive weekly publications required in most Maryland counties

Tax sale notices must be posted on Washington County's website 4 weeks prior to the sale and updated by close of business each Friday until the sale date

Newspaper notices must include a statement directing the public to the county website posting along with instructions on how to access it

Property owners in Washington County must receive one additional copy of the post-sale notice within 15 days of the initial required notice sent within 60 days of the tax sale
