Food retailers (minimum 4,000 sq ft, accepting SNAP, selling 5+ food categories), pharmacies, and gas stations/EV charging stations (6+ vehicles) would become eligible to obtain Class A alcoholic beverage licenses in Maryland

Eligible retail establishments may purchase a Class A license from an existing holder within 3,000 feet, or apply directly to the local licensing board if the holder declines

License holders must employ sworn security personnel in the alcohol sales area, complete alcohol awareness training, and are prohibited from using self-checkout for alcohol sales or delivering alcoholic beverages

Sales hours restricted to 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday; sales of individual cans/bottles of mixed cocktails or malt beverages 40 ounces or less prohibited

Establishments must be at least 300 feet from schools/places of worship and 100 feet from residential property; effective date July 1, 2025
