Requires prosecuting attorneys to notify victims of theft crimes (property valued under $1,500) about all court proceedings, regardless of whether the victim filed a formal notification request form

Mandates notification to theft victims about their right to submit a victim impact statement, any post-trial proceedings, appeals, and sentence reviews related to their case

Applies to misdemeanor theft offenses where stolen property or services are valued at $100-$1,500 (punishable by up to 6 months imprisonment for first offense, 1 year for subsequent) or under $100 (punishable by up to 90 days)

Allows victims receiving these mandatory notifications to opt out of further notices by filing a written request with the prosecuting attorney or relevant commitment unit

Takes effect October 1, 2025
