Removes the fixed statutory requirement that child care centers serving more than 20 children maintain at least 1 first aid/CPR certified staff member for every 20 children

Grants the Department authority to set the ratio of first aid/CPR certified staff to children through regulation rather than statute

Retains the requirement that all child care centers must have at least 1 certified staff member present at all times who has completed basic first aid training (American Red Cross or equivalent) and CPR training (American Heart Association or equivalent)

Effective date: July 1, 2025
