Adds three categories of Baltimore City officers to the list of protected personnel under Maryland's assault law: special enforcement officers (§ 16-16A), special parking enforcement officers (§ 16-16B), and special traffic enforcement officers (§ 16-16C)

Intentionally causing physical injury to these officers while they perform official duties elevates the offense from a misdemeanor to a felony of assault in the second degree

Penalty for assaulting protected officers: up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $5,000 (compared to $2,500 maximum fine for standard second-degree assault)
