Local boards of elections must include written notice explaining how to request an absentee ballot application with specimen ballots and other mailings to voters and eligible voters

Notice requirement aims to increase awareness of absentee voting options for statewide primary elections

Voters with permanent absentee ballot status are exempt from receiving the notice

Local boards are not required to include the notice more than once per election or for vote-by-mail elections
