Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration may issue warnings to State residents who have vehicles improperly registered in another state, giving them 60 days to register in Maryland or prove the vehicle is exempt from State registration

Vehicle owners who fail to comply within 60 days face civil fines of $7 per day for up to 60 additional days (maximum $420)

After 120 days of non-compliance, the Administration notifies local jurisdictions, and the County State's Attorney may bring a civil action in rem against the vehicle

Enforcement remedies include immobilization of the vehicle through towing, removal, impoundment, or booting
