Maryland 9-1-1 Board is authorized to adopt regulations to implement and enforce its responsibilities under the 9-1-1 systems subtitle, including oversight of enhanced 9-1-1 systems, Next Generation 9-1-1 services, training standards, and public safety answering point operations.

Maryland Department of Emergency Management is authorized to adopt regulations to implement and enforce its emergency management responsibilities, including disaster risk reduction, emergency planning, and coordination of emergency operations.

The bill amends Article – Public Safety Sections 1–306 and 14–103 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

Effective date is July 1, 2025; approved by Governor Wes Moore on April 8, 2025.
