Individuals convicted of crimes punishable by more than 1 year imprisonment would only be disqualified from jury service while currently serving their sentence, including parole or probation, rather than being permanently disqualified

Creates permanent disqualification from jury service for convictions involving perjury, witness intimidation, jury intimidation, or crimes under Title 8 of the Criminal Law Article (fraud and related crimes)

Eliminates the existing provision that allowed pardoned individuals to regain jury service eligibility

Retains existing disqualifications for individuals who cannot comprehend or communicate in English, have disabilities preventing satisfactory service, or have pending charges for crimes punishable by more than 1 year

Effective date: October 1, 2025
