Election judges must actually serve on an election day or early voting day before receiving compensation for completing required training courses (at least $50 per course)

Non-returning election judges receive at least $250 per day for each election day or early voting day served; returning judges receive at least $100 more per day than non-returning judges

Public school students serving as election judges may now earn service-learning graduation hours or receive election judge compensation, changing previous law that required both simultaneously

The State Board reimburses local boards $50 of the additional compensation paid to each returning election judge
