Requires design development documents for public school construction or major renovation projects to include an evaluation of parking lot solar canopies as part of the existing solar technology assessment based on life cycle costs

Expands the current solar technology evaluation requirement, which already covers photovoltaic and solar water heating systems, to explicitly include parking lot solar canopies

Mandates that if solar technologies (including parking lot canopies) are deemed not appropriate for a project, a report must explain why

Requires the Interagency Commission to submit an annual report by December 31 on the number of public school construction and renovation projects using solar technologies in each jurisdiction

Takes effect July 1, 2025
