Narrows the definition of "reportable offense" for students to include only crimes of violence as defined in § 14-101 of the Criminal Law Article, eliminating 12 other categories of offenses previously requiring school notification

Removes from mandatory reporting: weapon violations, drug offenses, gang-related crimes, assault, malicious burning, hate crimes, stalking, and threats of mass violence

Reportable offenses continue to apply only to incidents occurring off school premises and not at school-sponsored events

Law enforcement must still notify the local superintendent, school principal, and school security officer within 24 hours of a student's arrest for a reportable offense
