Expands authorization for speed monitoring systems (speed cameras) in residential districts from only Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Prince George's Counties to statewide application across all Maryland jurisdictions

Speed monitoring systems may be placed on highways in residential districts with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less, where the speed limit was established using generally accepted traffic engineering practices

Local jurisdictions must still authorize use of speed monitoring systems through local law enacted after reasonable notice and a public hearing before deployment

Speed monitoring systems capture images of vehicles traveling at least 12 mph above the posted speed limit

Effective date is October 1, 2025
