Department of Juvenile Services prohibited from knowingly hiring or retaining individuals convicted of serious violent and sexual crimes including murder, rape, kidnapping, abduction, and first-degree child abuse

Disqualifying offenses include manslaughter (except involuntary), first and second degree sexual offenses, sexual abuse of a minor, and assault in the first degree

Additional prohibited convictions include assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to rape, assault with intent to commit sexual offenses, and continuing course of conduct with a child

Exception allows the Department to hire or retain an individual if their judgment of conviction was reversed or vacated
