Parents, guardians, or custodians who intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or negligently act or fail to act in a manner that results in their child committing a crime or delinquent act would be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days imprisonment, a fine up to $2,500, or both.

Convicted parents/guardians must participate in all court proceedings related to the child's offense and all treatment, counseling, or diversion programs ordered for the child, with willful failure to comply constituting contempt of court.

Courts must order the parent, guardian, or custodian to pay restitution when a child commits a delinquent or criminal act, with a $10,000 cap per incident.

Parents, guardians, or custodians must be given a reasonable opportunity to be heard and present evidence before a restitution judgment is entered against them.
