Health insurance carriers must submit quarterly reports to the Maryland Insurance Commissioner on their use of artificial intelligence and automated decision-making systems, including the purpose, training data sources, personnel responsible, and bias testing measures

Carriers must report claims, grievances, and adverse decisions aggregated by ZIP code, race, ethnicity, gender, and age of members to enable demographic analysis of coverage patterns

Quarterly reports must include the monetary value of each grievance decision and the outcome, as well as the monetary value of adverse decisions not subject to grievance procedures

Carriers must report average hold times and total call times for grievance and appeal call centers, separated by emergency and non-emergency cases
