Adds Washington County to the list of Maryland counties where agricultural buildings used for agritourism are exempt from state building performance standards for construction, alteration, or modification

Existing agricultural buildings in Washington County used for agritourism will not require a building permit for change of occupancy if occupancy does not exceed 200 people and egress width meets International Building Code standards

Agricultural buildings are defined as structures housing farm implements, hay, grain, poultry, livestock, or horticultural products, excluding human residences

Buildings must be structurally sound and in good repair but are exempt from requirements for bathrooms, sprinkler systems, and elevators

Effective June 1, 2025; approved by Governor Wes Moore on May 13, 2025
