Study requires comprehensive evaluation of current security infrastructure in each public school system, including meetings with local school systems to assess physical and technological security measures and identify gaps

Evaluation must examine AI software for weapon identification, increased use of security cameras and their placement, and expanded use of metal detectors at school entrances

Center must request assessments of evaluated technologies analyzing efficacy, bias, data ownership, privacy, scope of use, and risk management

Interim report due December 1, 2025 and final report due December 1, 2026; Act takes effect June 1, 2025 and expires June 30, 2027
