Agricultural property actively used for farm purposes must be compensated at 350% of the highest appraisal value when taken through condemnation proceedings, rather than standard fair market value

The enhanced compensation applies to farmland as classified by the State Department of Assessments and Taxation under § 8–209, including property condemned for transmission line construction or maintenance

The act applies retroactively to any condemnation proceeding initiated on or after January 1, 2024

Effective date is October 1, 2025
