Voters who cast a provisional ballot due to claiming a different political party affiliation than on record are now qualified to vote that provisional ballot if they made a selection in a nonpartisan board of education contest

Local boards of canvassers must count only the votes cast in nonpartisan board of education contests when a voter's provisional ballot was cast for a different political party than their recorded affiliation

Amends Section 11-303(d) and (e) of the Maryland Election Law Article to add these new provisions for handling provisional ballots with party affiliation discrepancies

Takes effect October 1, 2025
