Prohibits the State of Maryland, local governments, and their agencies from filing lawsuits seeking monetary or economic damages against businesses for adverse effects of global warming or climate change

Defines "business" broadly to include sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, associations, and any other business entities, including financial institutions and their parent or subsidiary companies

Preserves the ability of federal, state, and local governments to enforce existing health, environmental, zoning, and other applicable laws

Does not relieve businesses from their responsibility to comply with applicable federal, state, or local laws

Effective date: October 1, 2025
