High school football games must have on-site presence of a trained health care professional (licensed athletic trainer, EMS-certified individual, nurse, or physician) OR an ambulance staffed with appropriate EMS personnel

The ambulance requirement can be satisfied if a staffed ambulance is stationed within 3 driving miles of the game at a fire, rescue, or ambulance facility

Requirements apply to both public schools and state-funded nonpublic schools, which must update their venue-specific emergency action plans to include these football game policies

Ambulances designated to cover games are not prohibited from responding to other emergencies during the course of a football game
