Theft of a firearm (including antique firearms and replicas) is classified as a felony, separate from Maryland's standard value-based theft penalties

First conviction carries up to 5 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $1,000

Second or subsequent convictions carry up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $2,500

Sentences for firearm theft must run consecutive to (not concurrent with) sentences for any other offenses
