Individuals aged 60 or older who have served at least 20 years in prison may file a motion to reduce the duration of their current and any consecutive sentences

Courts must hold a hearing on the motion, with the individual present (in person or by video conference), unless a prior motion was ruled on within the preceding 5 years and good cause is not shown for a new hearing

Courts may grant sentence reduction if the individual is not a danger to the public and the interests of justice will be better served by a reduced sentence

Required consideration factors include: age, nature of offense, institutional compliance, completion of educational/vocational programs, demonstrated rehabilitation, victim statements, health examinations, family circumstances and trauma history, and age-related recidivism reduction
