Prohibits the sale, transfer, or distribution of non-arc-resistant jacketed corrugated stainless steel tubing that fails to meet LC1027 standards from the International Fuel and Gas Code or withstand at least 36 coulombs of electrical arcing charge

Restricts use of corrugated stainless steel tubing in new construction, major renovations (affecting more than 50% of square footage), or new gas line additions to only tubing meeting the specified safety standards

Establishes civil penalties up to $1,000 for violations of both the sales prohibition and the construction use requirements

Requires the Maryland Department of Labor and Office of the State Fire Marshal to conduct a study on fire hazards associated with fuel gas piping systems, with an interim report due December 1, 2025 and final report due September 1, 2026

Takes effect June 1, 2025
