Secretary of State may suspend or waive late fees for charitable organizations that fail to file annual reports, either through adopted regulations or settlement agreements

Late fees assessed to charitable organizations cannot be referred to the Central Collection Unit as delinquent debt for collection purposes

Secretary of State may cancel a charitable organization's registration if it fails to submit required annual reports or updates for a 3-year period, after sending notice to the organization's last known address and email

Canceled registrations may be reinstated if the organization submits all outstanding reports, pays or has waived late fees, maintains good standing with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, and holds current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status if applicable
