Judges may consider existing military protection orders issued under 10 U.S.C. § 1567 against a respondent when deciding whether to grant temporary peace orders or temporary protective orders for the same or similar conduct against the same petitioner

Military protection orders are defined as orders issued by commanding officers against persons under their command in any branch of the U.S. uniformed services, the Maryland National Guard, or the National Guard of any other state

Law enforcement officers must notify the agency that entered a military protection order into the FBI's National Crime Information Center database when they have probable cause to believe a service member has violated that order while also violating a state peace or protective order

Amends both the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article (peace orders) and the Family Law Article (protective orders) to create parallel provisions for military protection order consideration

Effective October 1, 2025
